1.      Client Loyalty Scheme.  Ask to join your salon’s loyalty scheme. This can get you all kinds of free or stuff or exclusive offers. If they don’t have one, ask why not?

 

2.      Pre-book Your Appointment.  Booking your next appointment early may get you a free gift or a discount.

 

3.      Get the Trainee to do Your Hair.  Not as scary as you first think, and you’ll save pounds.  Trainees will have coloured and snipped any number of dolls’ and friends’ hair before coming anywhere near a live client. Usually they will be supervised by an experienced stylist who can step in if needed.

 

4.      Introduce a Friend.  Salon’s love it when you introduce a new client.  Take your friend along for an appointment and you may well both get a free treat.

 

5.      Off Peak Bookings. If you can make your appointment on a quiet day, you may find you get a discount off the normal price.

 

6.      Concession Rate.  Most salons offer a reduced rate if you’re receiving a pension. Again you may need to make your appointment during quiet times.

 

7.      Students’ Rate.  If you can prove you’re a student your salon may give you a discount, in the hope that when you get your first job you’ll stay with them.

 

8.      Enter Surveys. Salons like to know you’re getting what you want. Take a few minutes to share your views on your experience and you may get the chance to win a reward prize.

 

9.      Company Membership. If a few of your workmates use the same salon, you may warrant VIP status.

 

10.  Be a Model.  You could get a trendy cool cut for free with an experienced stylist, for advanced level training courses.
